POSITION: Vice President

Great Lakes Center for Youth Development, located in Marquette, Michigan seeks a Vice President. Our organization seeks an exceptional leader for this newly created position. The individual will be responsible for providing critical leadership and direction for our growing organization.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for the healthy development of youth in rural communities by strengthening nonprofit organizations and schools that serve youth and families.

Great Lakes Center for Youth Development is committed to helping communities in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan build healthy youth environments by strengthening youth-serving organizations and other nonprofits. As an intermediary organization, we work with the organizations that serve youth and families versus providing direct service to youth and families. Through information, consultation, and innovative program development, GLCYD (also called the Center) helps organizations become more sustainable and able to better serve youth and families. Areas in which we provide technical assistance and training include nonprofit management, youth development, marketing, board development, strategic planning, and fund development. The Center promotes the 40 Developmental Assets, developed by the Search Institute, as a positive youth development framework. The Center engages in community efforts to enhance the youth environment such as creating the U.P. Volunteer Network, strengthening the U.P. Children’s Coalition, and building youth assets.
