Youth Development Framework Comparison

While most youth development frameworks have developed from common theories that strive to address both the causes of risk behavior and the supports for thriving indicators, most of these frameworks have evolved independently from one another. This has left professionals, communities and families struggling to distinguish the best framework to adopt/implement for their youth development initiative. Users must select among a variety of frameworks that share desired outcomes, but that function by means of different missions, change methodologies, research data and measurement tools. The task of researching alternative rating systems, standards and best practice frameworks can be difficult.

The "Youth Development Framework Comparison" is a brief overview of ten (10) best practice frameworks in the field of youth development and contains information regarding each frameworks' purpose, strength(s), change methodology, research base/data support, resources provided, measurement instrument(s), ownership of data and contact options.
