U.P. Nonprofit Conference:
“Today’s Challenges - Practical Approaches”
October 7, 2005, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The U.P. Nonprofit Conference will provide an opportunity for people representing all nonprofit sectors in the U.P. to come together, interact with colleagues, hear dynamic speakers and participate in skill-building workshops.

 

Keynote Speakers:

  • Dr. Tim Seiler, director of the Fundraising School at Indiana University’s Center on Philanthropy, will address trends in philanthropy and fundraising.
  • Sam Singh, president and CEO of Michigan Nonprofit Association, will discuss the issues facing nonprofits in Washington, D.C., and Lansing and how these issues will affect nonprofits on the local level.


Workshops:
The workshops are designed to address a variety of substantive issues and needs of participants:

 

Exhibitors:
Participants will be provided an opportunity to learn about new products and services available to nonprofits.

Pre-Conference Reception:
Your conference registration includes an invitation to attend an informal reception at the U.P. Children’s Museum on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. Enjoy refreshments and networking while exploring the museum exhibits such as The Incredible Journey, a walk through, crawl through human body exhibit. Enjoy a sneak preview the newest additional to The Incredible Journey – Good Lung, Bad Lung, an exhibit that shows the difference between a smoking and nonsmoking lung and explores all the functions of the lung.


Lodging:
A group-lodging rate is available for conference participants. We have reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate of $59 per night (plus tax) for conference attendees who wish to stay at the Ramada Inn. The rate applies to October 5, 6, and 7, 2005. Please make reservations as soon as possible. The rooms will be released to the general public on September 15, 2005. Please make your reservations directly with the hotel and be sure to ask for group code GRLK.
