The Youth Summit is a leadership development event designed to promote youth asset building and empower youth to build the assets of their peers.

You will want to attend if you are:

  • In grades 8-11
  • Interested in learning about your community and your place in it
  • Passionate about improving life for you and your peers

A "Youth Summit" is a day-long retreat during which a diverse group of young people representing the Marquette and Alger County schools can meet with one another. Attendees will learn about the results of the Profiles of Student Life: Attitudes and Behaviors survey performed last fall, the Developmental Assets framework, and (most importantly) use that information to engage students in asset-building in their homes, communities and in the schools.

The agenda is:

 8:30 Doughnuts (and registration)
9:00 What are the Developmental Assets?
10:00 Food (break)
10:15 What does it all mean?
11:30 PIZZA
12:00 Group discussion
1:00 More food! Hmmm... I'm beginning to see a pattern.
 1:30 What next?
 2:00 Adjournment
