Help them find activities that make constructive use of their time.


Infants & Toddlers (birth to 35 months)

  1. Child is exposed to creative activities.
  2. Child is exposed to out-of-home activities.
  3. Family participates in religious community.
  4. Time at home is positive and supervised.

Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5)

  1. Child participates in creative activities.
  2. Child interacts with children outside the family.
  3. Family participates in religious community.
  4. Time at home involves predictable, enjoyable routines.

Elementary-Age Children (ages 6-11)

  1. Child participates in creative activities.
  2. Child participates in school or community programs.
  3. Family participates in religious community.
  4. Child spends most evenings and weekends at home.

Teenagers (ages 12-18)

  1. Teenager participates in creative activities.
  2. Teenager participates in school or community programs.
  3. Teenager is involved in activities in a religious community.
  4. Teenager spends most evenings at home.
