Meet the U.P.’s unsung heroes

You meet some of the nicest people in the nonprofit sector. This was especially the case at the recent U.P. Nonprofit Conference hosted by Grow & Lead. There were a lot of first-time attendees at the conference this year, so I met a lot of new people that day. Every one of them was nothing short of pleasant. But one group stood out from the others in terms of niceness.  These were the recipients of the U.P. Service Awards.

The awards are given out annually to individuals and organizations for outstanding volunteer or philanthropic efforts. A more caring, selfless, motivated and downright inspiring group would be hard to find.

Take a minute to learn more about these unsung heroes of niceness from communities across the U.P. You can click on any one of their names to read about the wonderful volunteer work they do.

Youth award recipient Madison Hundley of Crystal Falls
